Privacy Policy

Effective October 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Keepr LLC (“Keepr,” “we,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Keepr mobile app and the website at thekeepr.app (together, the “Service”).

Who we are

Keepr LLC is a Colorado limited liability company based in Durango, Colorado. Keepr is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at support@thekeepr.app.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and username. Your password is handled by our authentication provider and stored only in hashed form. We never see it.

Animal records

Keepr stores the records you enter about your animals, including:

  • Name, species, sex, and hatch date
  • Acquisition date and source
  • Weights and weight history
  • Health logs
  • Notes
  • Lineage, pairings, clutches, and incubation records

Transfer records

When an animal is transferred from one Keepr user to another, we keep a record of the transfer, including the animal, the accounts involved, and when it happened.

Subscription information

If you subscribe to Keepr Pro, we store your subscription status (for example, whether it is active or canceled). Web subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions purchased through an app store (such as the Apple App Store or Google Play) are processed by that store and follow its billing and refund terms. Your payment details go to Stripe or the store, not to us. Keepr never stores card numbers.

Email signups

If you join our email list on thekeepr.app, we store your email address so we can send you updates about Keepr.

Technical information

When you visit thekeepr.app, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request, so it can deliver and secure the site. If you sign in on the website, a session token is stored in your browser to keep you signed in.

How we use information

  • To provide the Service: storing your records, showing public animal profiles, and processing transfers
  • To manage your account and subscription
  • To respond to your support requests
  • To send messages about your account and, if you joined our email list, updates about Keepr
  • To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse
  • To comply with our legal obligations

Public animal profiles

Animal profiles on Keepr can be viewed by anyone who has the profile’s link or QR code, even without a Keepr account. A public profile can show the animal’s name, species, sex, morph and lineage, hatch date, acquisition date, current weight, source, weight history, and health log. Notes, pairings, clutches, and incubation records are not shown on public profiles.

Anyone with an active transfer link can also view that animal’s profile, so share transfer links only with the person you’re transferring to.

How we share information

We share information with the service providers that run Keepr, and only as needed for them to do that work:

  • Supabase: database hosting and account authentication
  • Stripe: payment processing for web subscriptions
  • Vercel: website hosting

If you subscribe through an app store (such as the Apple App Store or Google Play), that store processes your payment under its own privacy policy and tells us your subscription status.

When you transfer an animal, its new owner receives the animal’s record and transfer history, which identifies you as a previous owner.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of Keepr or our users, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business. If that happens, this policy will continue to apply to your information.

We don’t sell your data

Keepr does not sell your personal information and does not use it for advertising.

Retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the Keepr app under Profile → Delete Account, or by emailing support@thekeepr.app from the address on your account.

Deleting your account removes your profile, animals, and logs. Animals you’ve already transferred stay with their new owners, along with their transfer history. We complete deletion within 30 days.

Stripe and the app stores keep their own billing records under their own policies, and we may keep limited billing records where the law requires it.

To be removed from our email list, email support@thekeepr.app and we’ll delete your address.

Your choices

You can view and edit your animal records in the Keepr app at any time. You can also ask us for a copy of your personal information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@thekeepr.app. We’ll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor them as required.

Children

Keepr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls, and we rely on established providers for hosting, authentication, and payments. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Where information is processed

Keepr is operated from the United States. If you use Keepr from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll post the updated version on this page with a new effective date. If the changes are significant, we’ll also let you know in the app or by email.
