Terms of Service

Effective October 28, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Keepr LLC, a Colorado limited liability company (“Keepr,” “we,” or “us”). They govern your use of the Keepr mobile app and the website at thekeepr.app (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Keepr. If you are under 18, you may use Keepr only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Your account

You agree to give accurate information when you create your account and to keep your password secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. If you think someone else has accessed your account, email us at support@thekeepr.app right away.

3. Your data

You own the animal records and other content you put into Keepr (“Your Data”). Keepr does not claim ownership of Your Data.

You give Keepr a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, and process Your Data only as needed to operate and provide the Service. That includes showing public animal profiles and passing an animal’s record to its new owner when you transfer it. This license ends when Your Data is deleted, except for records that have transferred to other users and transfer records involving other users, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for Your Data, including making sure you have the right to enter it and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

4. Public profiles and QR codes

Animal profiles can be viewed by anyone who has the profile’s link or QR code. You control what you enter and who you share links and QR codes with. Keepr is not responsible for how other people use information they view on a public profile.

5. Transfers

  • Transfers are started by users. A transfer moves an animal’s Keepr record from one account to another when the recipient claims it.
  • Keepr is not a party to any sale, trade, or other deal between users. We do not handle payments between buyers and sellers, and we do not verify that a sale took place or who owns an animal.
  • Keepr does not verify or guarantee any animal or any information in its record, including species, sex, age, lineage, genetics, morph, health, or history. That information is entered by users.
  • Any dispute about an animal or a transaction is between the people involved. Keepr is not responsible for resolving it.
  • Anyone with an active transfer link can view and claim the animal, so share transfer links only with the intended recipient.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Keepr in connection with any activity that violates wildlife, animal welfare, import or export, or other applicable laws, including trading protected species without the required permits
  • Enter information you know is false or misleading, including false lineage or ownership claims
  • Impersonate anyone or access an account that isn’t yours
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, probe its security, or access it by automated means such as scraping without our permission
  • Upload malicious code
  • Use the Service to harass or harm others

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Subscriptions and billing

  • Keepr offers a free tier and a paid subscription, Keepr Pro. The features and limits of each are described in the app.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
  • Web subscriptions, purchased directly from Keepr, are billed through Stripe. Subscriptions purchased through an app store (such as the Apple App Store or Google Play) are billed by that store and follow its billing and refund terms.
  • You can cancel anytime. For a web subscription, go to Profile → Manage Subscription in the app. For a subscription purchased through an app store, cancel through that store’s subscription settings.
  • When you cancel, you keep paid features until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Your account then moves to the free tier, and your data is kept.
  • Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and we do not give refunds or credits for partial billing periods. Refunds for app store purchases are handled by the store under its own policies.
  • We may change subscription prices. We’ll give you notice in advance, and the new price will apply starting with your next renewal.

8. Keepr’s property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, belongs to Keepr and is protected by law. These Terms do not give you any right to use Keepr’s name or logos. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

9. Termination

You can stop using Keepr and delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Delete Account. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms, if we need to in order to protect the Service or other users, or if we discontinue the Service. Where practical, we’ll give you notice first. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 3, 5, and 10 through 16.

10. Disclaimers

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. KEEPR DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY RECORD IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE. KEEPR MAKES NO WARRANTY ABOUT ANY ANIMAL OR ANY TRANSACTION BETWEEN USERS.

Information in Keepr is a record kept by its users. It is not veterinary advice.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KEEPR AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL; OR FOR ANY LOSS RELATED TO ANY ANIMAL OR TRANSACTION BETWEEN USERS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS. KEEPR’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID KEEPR IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain warranty disclaimers or limits on liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Keepr and its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your use of the Service, Your Data, your dealings with other users, or your violation of these Terms or the law.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state courts located in La Plata County, Colorado, or in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and you and Keepr consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

14. App Store terms

If you downloaded Keepr from Apple’s App Store:

  • These Terms are between you and Keepr only, not Apple. Keepr, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
  • Keepr, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection claims.
  • If a third party claims that the app infringes their intellectual property rights, Keepr, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging that claim.
  • You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • You must comply with any applicable third-party terms, such as your wireless data service agreement, when using the app.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We’ll post the new version on this page with a new effective date, and for material changes we’ll also let you know in the app or by email. If you keep using the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

16. General

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Keepr about the Service. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business.
